Job Title: Manufacturing Development Engineer (ME)
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be a mechanical/manufacturing engineer who will join the manufacturing team to work closely with R&D on the product, to develop design/systems margin, process margin, and reliability in the design phase and then be responsible for communication of the part and assembly design intent to our manufacturing partners both internal and external. They will also work with the design engineers and procurement in resolving design problems during and after product introduction. Work with R&D and manufacturing partners developing the subsystems specifications, test/verification systems, and product qualification/acceptance criteria.The person will have cost reduction, Design For Manufacturing (DFM), Design For Assembly (DFA) part and subsystem responsibilities for the product. Requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Education, licenses: Required: BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Preferred: M.S.M.E. Experience, training: Required: 5 years + experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills, excellent analytical and problem solving skills in a multi-discipline, multicultural global environment. Demonstrated ability to produce results across diverse groups and multiple levels of organization. Demonstrated ability in interpersonal and teamwork skills. Hands on experience in mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, part, and process design, development, and testing. Ability to plan and prioritize appropriately to make progress on current and future products within the same timeframe. Detailed engineering understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, plastic injection molding, engineering statistics, tolerancing practices, motion control, and mechanisms. Solid understanding of measurement techniques, design of experiments (DOE), & failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA). Preferred: Successful completion of a full cycle through the product development and commercialization as a design, development, or manufacturing engineer. SolidWorks CAD proficiency. Demonstrated ability working with external design and manufacturing partners (Overseas a plus). Paper handling systems experience
